We went shooting this afternoon and I brought my Springfield XD-9. It is a fine little pistol. Here it is along with my Glock 19. The Springfield shoots great. I have shot thousands of rounds through it without the first bobble. It is accurate.the only reason I like the XDM better than the XD is that the compact one is a 3.8" barrel in the XDM as opposed to 3" in the XD. The XD SC feels tiny in my hand. Even the XDM without the extended grip feels small. I have looked at the non SC XD9 in the past, but I haven't compared it to the Glock side by side. The felt recoil with the XD-9 Service and the Glock 19 is probably about the same, which is NEXT TO NOTHING. The main differences between the two is the grip angle and the fact that the Glock 19 is a more concealable pistol due to it's slightly shorter grip. I am having trouble deciding witch gun to buy. I have narrowed the choice down to 2 guns. The Glock 27 (.40S&W) The Springfield Armory XD Sub-Compact .40S&W. The Springfield costs less, has a reliable record, and offers much more features than the glock. (With that said, the XD's have a good record, I don't know about the sub-C models though)
